In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Ten Shekles and a Shirt

This is the link for the teaching by Paris Reidhead called Ten Shekles and a Shirt taken from the book of Judges, chapter 17.  This series is on You Tube as a six part series.  See below for the links:

Paris was born in a Minnesota farming community in 1919 and in his late teens committed himself to a life of Christian service.

I have to say that there must have be something in that era that reminds me of my father.  In listening to this link and Paris's way of teaching, it brought back many memories of how my father would talk and teach.  His whole discussion on humanism seemed like it was something my father would say.  I could almost hear my father's voice as Paris was speaking.

You may ask why it matters about my father, but there is more to this that is fascinating to me.  You see, my father was also born in Minnesota and just a year before Paris in 1918.  It makes me wonder if there was some teaching that was in the school system or better yet, the family system, that planted these seeds in two totally different men but with similar geographical starts.

I am not at all saying that my father and Paris had the same life or callings as my father took most of his life to live by the principles that Paris is speaking about, but I find it interesting, as I reflect on my father's life in the late '70's, how his focus was similar to that of Paris in this teaching; that life is not all about fun and our pleasure and how humanism is invading Christianity.

Drawing Heaven

This is an incredible testimony of how God finds us.  Are Akiane is a 12-year-old who paints pictures of what she has seen of heaven.  She was 4 when she began this incredible journey and has made many beautiful paintings since then.

The most fascinating part of this story is that Are came from a family that were not Christians.  She told her mother of her visions of heaven and had to relate faith to her mother from her own personal experiences.  WOW - that could preach!  We ALL need to be sharing of OUR personal experience of how God intersects OUR lives and not just repeating some other person's revelation or experience!

Recently, Are has begun to play the piano and is now composing music and yes, you guessed it.  She have never had art or music lessons.

James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Everything by Lighthouse

This was one of the MOST powerful videos that I have ever seen.  You will see the LOVE of GOD in the form of a mime to the song called, Everything by Lighthouse.

It is VERY moving and so POWERFUL of how MUCH the LORD loves us.  If this is not your life, than I am sure it is someone you know.  Oh our God is SO good!

Revival Hymn Video

It was a link such as this that caused me to start this blog.  I have been receiving so many emails with GREAT stuff contained in them and I wanted to share it with the WORLD!  Sure, I would forward it to my "friend group" but somehow I felt there were more people that I needed to share it with. I wanted a bigger audience to hear these treasures from days-gone-by.

I pray you enjoy the Revival Hymn (as much as I have!  In this video you will hear Leonard Ravenhill recounting a great work of God along with many other great ministers of the Gospel.  (also try the Google video link: the Revival Hymn.)  You will hear Ian Praisley, Paris Reidhead, Duncan Campbell, A.W. Tozer and T. Austin Sparks as they are set to video as shown on You-Tube.  This is probably the most remarkable recording I have ever heard on the testimony of our Great God.  I pray you are moved, changed and transformed as you listen.

Don Dickerman

A friend told me about Don Dickerman Minstries located in Colleyville, Texas.  I have participated in the ministries here as a participant and a student.  Many people believe that Christians are never in need of deliverance because they say that if the Holy Spirit is in you, devils can't be.  This simply doesn't line up with scripture.

Just because a person is born again and saved does not cause demons to leave.  Read in the scripture every time Jesus dealt with demons he commanded them to leave.  Until they are told to leave they are just laying low.  As a person walks with the Lord, they can, through their own personal walk, command demons to leave but either way, demons don't leave until they are told to go.

Don has written a book on the subject and recently re-titled the book.  You can listen to a link about When Pigs Move In and find out for yourself about the topic.

The COLD Within - Poem

Years ago my mother came across this poem The Cold Within and she shared a copy with me.  Immediately it was a piece of information that gripped my heart.  It was one of those moments that spoke into my soul.  I was about 10 or so, old enough to capture the meaning of the writing yet still young enough to desire to decorate my bedroom door with all the things I loved.  I taped the copy up for "all the world" to see!  Ha - the only world that was viewing it was my parents and family members as they hurried past my door on the way to their lives.  Oh, the innocence of youth.

Well, now I post here...like my bedroom door, I have no idea if anyone is stopping from their hurried life to read what is here, but yet I still post.  So, some things in life never change.

The Cold Within
Six humans trapped by happenstance
In dark and bitter cold
Each possessed a stick of wood--
Or so the story's told.

Their dying fire in need of logs,
But the first one held hers back,
For, of the faces around the fire,
She noticed one was black.
The next one looked cross the way
Saw one not of his church,
And could not bring himself to give
The fire his stick of birch.

The third one sat in tattered clothes
He gave his coat a hitch,
Why should his log be put to use
To warm the idle rich?

The rich man just sat back and thought
Of wealth he had in store,
And keeping all that he had earned
From the lazy, shiftless poor.

The black man's face bespoke revenge
As the fire passed from his sight,
For he saw in his stick of wood
A chance to spite the white.

And the last man of this forlorn group
Did nought except for gain,
Giving just to those who gave
Was how he played the game,

Their sticks held tight in death's stilled hands
Was proof enough of sin;
They did not die from cold without--
They died from cold within.

the Stimulus Package

Bob Basso (the author of "Common Sense") plays the role of Thomas Paine and has it SO right. We don't need more government interfering with our banks, our investments, our companies, we need LESS government. A good reminder of the truth and I for one am glad he said it.  Stimulus Package
