SHIPWRECKED

SHIPWRECKED

A voyaging ship…was wrecked during a storm at sea.  And only two men were able to swim to a small, deserted island; the two survivors, not knowing what else to do, agree that they had no other recourse but to pray to God.  However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the island.

The first thing the first man prayed for was food.  The next morning, the first man saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land and he was able to eat its fruit.  The other man’s parcel of land remained barren.

After a week, the first man was lonely and he decided to pray for a wife.  The next day, another ship was wrecked.  And the only survivor was a woman who swam to his side of the island.  On the other side of the island, there was nothing.

Soon, the first man prayed for a house, clothes, more food.  The next day, like magic, all of these were given to him.  However, the second man still had nothing.

Finally, the first man prayed for a ship so that he and his wife could leave the island.  In the morning, he found this ship docked at his side of the island!  The first man boarded the ship with his wife and decided to leave the second man on the island.  He considered the other man unworthy to receive God’s blessings, since none of his prayers had been answered.  As the ship was about to leave, the first man heard a voice from Heaven booming,  “Why are you leaving your companion on the island?”

“My blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who prayed for them,” the first man answered.  “His prayers were all unanswered and so he does not deserve anything.”

“You are mistaken!” the voice rebuked him.  “He had only one prayer, which I answered.  If not for that, you would not have received any of my blessings.”

"Tell me,” the first man asked the voice, “what did he pray for that I should owe him anything?’

“He prayed that all your prayers be answered.”

For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone…but those of another praying for us.  Remember that when Jesus died on the cross, he was thinking of you!

What Healing Looks Like!

Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.  Proverbs 20:11.  This 3 year old child is REJOICING about her answered prayer.  What faith she has grown and testimony she is cultivating.  She asked of the Lord and He heard her.  She is FULLY persuaded that there is a God, because SHE prayed and SHE received.  It's simple faith, y'all.  Nothing complicated about God at all.  Just talk to Him according to His Word! He LOVES His Word and He HONORS His Word!

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure.  In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.   Titus 1:15.

She is happy with joy, happy with joy.  LOVE this!

You have NOT because YOU ask not.  He are SOME of God's promises on the matter...ASK HIM!

Matthew 7:7-11  Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Luke 11:9-13  And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?  Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?  If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

John 14:13-14  And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

John 15:7-8  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

John 16:23-24  And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.  Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Philippians 4:6 Be careful [NKJV: anxious] for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Philippians 4:19 But [NKJV: And] my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

1 John 5:14-15  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Take All of Me - Hillsong

Just can't seem to get enough of the great music that comes out of Hillsong.   Here is another classic, Take All of Me.

Sometimes we just need to saturate ourselves in the presence of the Almighty.  May this song move you deeper into the loving presence of the Living God.  He is SO in love with us and all He desires from us is our adoration and praise.  Take a minute and tell the creator of the universe how much you love Him and then give Him all that you have...YOU!

Your Name - Paul Baloche

There is really nothing as sweet to my spirit as this song is.  Your Name by Paul Baloche is one of the sweetest songs that I know.  Before you click on the link, take a minute and say a quick prayer to prepare your heart for what God is going to do when you listen.

There is NOTHING on this earth that heals like HIS NAME!  It is a strong and mighty tower, it's a shelter like no other, let the nations sing it louder 'cause nothing has the power to save like HIS Name!  There is NOTHING above THIS name and ALL people will one day bow and acknowledge the power in this name - the NAME of Jesus Christ!

Be raptured into His presence in the moments you listen and then take Him with you through your day.  Blessings!

Marriage Restored

I ran across this great clip, A Story - From the Ashes.  It is about a couple who were able to put their marriage back together again after divorce.  This was NOT something they did on their own, though.  They did it through a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.  When Christ became the center of their reason to live, their lives changed and with that, their thinking and purposes in living changed.

It doesn't matter where you are in your marriage, GOD CAN RESTORE YOU and YOUR MARRIAGE - IF YOU ALLOW HIM TOO!  I say this because I have personally seen when people have intervened to cause the healing of a marriage and I have seen the opposite, when people intervene to finalize a divorce.  People think they are helping but ONLY GOD can heal a heart and a marriage and He is SO willing to do so, if we, the people, just let Him in.

What Can I Do? - Paul Baloche

This song is SO amazing!  Spring is in the air here in Texas and my heart is full. Full of joy, peace, life, expectation - HOPE!  Why?  Well, certainly not because of the news that we hear on TV.  Certainly not because of the wars and rumors of wars or the uprisings around the world yet my heart gets filled as I hear and sing this song, What Can I Do?

What can I do but thank Him for all He has done for me! What has he done, well first and foremost He has saved me!  If that were not enough then look around and watch a sunrise or sunset.  Who can color the sky with such artistry?  Who can use the color pallet like He does and then stretch it across the horizon?  Look deep into the night sky and see the distant galaxies...He is there - beyond all we know and certainly beyond all that we understand.  He is AMAZING!

I pray you enjoy this song as much as I do.  It should lift you up if you are down - if we don't praise Him the ROCKS will the scripture say.  Praise Him my friend!  Praise Him.  This song will teach you how!  PRAISE HIM while it is still today!

What can I do?  I can give my life to YOU, Lord Jesus!  I GIVE you my life!

The Day He Wore My Crown - Sandi Patty

Not sure how many of you remember who Sandi Patty is but she was an icon in the Christian Music industry back in the 1980's.  Her incredibly strong voice and magnificent range was the soprano voice in demand back then in the Christian Community.  She was even asked to sing for Presidents on several occasions.

The song The Day He Wore My Crown is an incredible song, one of my favorites from the day, but hearing Sandy sing it makes it that much better.

Take a moment to sit back and listen to the words of this song and think about how He has taken your place.  What a great God we serve!  Thank You Jesus for taking my place!

Praise You In This Storm - Casting Crowns

Love this song, Praise You In This Storm by Casting Crowns.  They are an incredible band with a special anointing.

One of my sons worked (as and audio engineer) at an event that Casting Crown was one of the feature bands performing at a few years ago.  When he told me he would be working with them, I had to ask him to tell them what a blessing this song had been to my brother.  See, this brother had gone through a terrible "storm" in his life and this song ministered life to him as he was so down and stripped of purpose.

What was interesting was what the Band told my son.  They said this song was given to them from a mother who wrote the lyrics for her and her daughter as they struggled through the death of this daughter.  The Lord gave the song to the mom and the mom wanted this band to write the music and sing the song that was in her heart.  It was a very moving description that the mother told the band as she was having to deal with the emanate lose of her daughter and how they knew that God would be big enough to see them through their storm.

What an incredible testimony of how GREAT our God is.  I pray this song will minister to you as you find the storms of life that try to overtake you.  See, we all have storms but do we choose to Praise God through our storms?

The Bible - according to a child.

Have you ever stopped to think about how much of what we teach our children really makes it into understanding.  Here is a cute story, from a child regarding their understanding of the Bible.  Too cute!

The Children's Bible in a Nutshell
In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness, and some gas.  The Bible says, 'The Lord thy God is one', but I think He must be a lot older than that.

Anyway, God said, 'Give me a light!' and someone did.
Then God made the world.

He split the Adam and made Eve.  Adam and Eve were naked, but they weren't embarrassed because mirrors hadn't been invented yet.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating one bad apple, so they were driven from the Garden of Eden.....Not sure what they were driven in though, because they didn't have cars.

Adam and Eve had a son, Cain, who hated his brother as long as he was Abel.

Pretty soon all of the early people died off, except for Methuselah, who lived to be like a million or something.

One of the next important people was Noah, who was a good guy, but one of his kids was kind of a Ham.  Noah built a large boat and put his family and some animals on it. He asked some other people to join him, but they said they would have to take a raincheck.

After Noah came Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  Jacob was more famous than his brother, Esau, because Esau sold Jacob his birthmark in exchange for some pot roast.  Jacob had a son named Joseph who wore a really loud sports coat.

Another important Bible guy is Moses, whose real name was Charlton Heston.  Moses led the Israel Lights out of  Egypt and away from the evil Pharaoh after God sent ten plagues on Pharaoh's people.  These plagues included frogs, mice, lice, bowels, and no cable.

God fed the Israel Lights every day with manicotti.  Then he gave them His Top Ten Commandments. These include: don't lie, cheat, smoke, dance, or covet your neighbor's stuff.

Oh, yeah, I just thought of one more: Humor thy father and thy mother.

One of Moses' best helpers was Joshua who was the first Bible guy to use spies.  Joshua fought the battle of Geritol and the fence fell over on the town.

After Joshua came David..  He got to be king by killing a giant with a slingshot.  He had a son named Solomon who had about 300 wives and 500 porcupines.  My teacher says he was wise, but that doesn't sound very wise to me.

After Solomon there were a bunch of major league prophets.  One of these was Jonah, who was swallowed by a big whale and then barfed up on the shore.

There were also some minor league prophets, but I guess we don't have to worry about them.
After the Old Testament came the New Testament.  Jesus is the star of The New.  He was born  in  Bethlehem  in a barn.  (I wish I had been born in a barn too, because my mom is always saying to me, 'Close the door! Were you born in a barn?' It would be nice to say, 'As a matter of fact, I was.')
During His life, Jesus had many arguments with sinners like the Pharisees and the Democrats.
Jesus also had twelve opossums.

The worst one was Judas Asparagus.  Judas was so evil that they named a terrible vegetable after him.
Jesus was a great man.  He healed many leopards and even preached to some Germans on the Mount.
But the Democrats and all those guys put Jesus on trial before Pontius the Pilot.  Pilot didn't stick up for Jesus.  He just washed his hands instead.

Anyways, Jesus died for our sins, then came back to life again.  He went up to Heaven but will be back at the end of the Aluminum.  His return is foretold in the book of Revolution.

Beauty of Mathematics

This is an interesting look at letters when given number values.  They did some fun and came up with some interesting conclusions.  See there is Beauty in Mathematics because God is so beyond our understanding.  Nothing compares to the Love of God!

When I Think About the Lord

When I Think About the Lord is one of those songs that when you hear it, it gets into your Spirit and changes you.  Do you stop to think about the Lord?  What has He done for you?  Who is He to you?  Stop and think about what the Lord has done for you.  Where would you be without Him?  See, it makes me want to SHOUT! To shout hallelujah!  Thank You Jesus!  Lord you are worthy of all the honor and all the glory and all of the praise!

What?  You don't know of what I speak of?  Well, if you want to SHOUT in victory with all of the people, YOU have a simple thing to do.  You have to decide to make Jesus the Lord of your life.  You decide to bow your knee and ask Jesus to forgive you for all that you have done to fail and you confess that you believe that He did EVERYTHING possible to save you.  See, He takes our place.  He took on sin, and judgement and death so we could take on His righteousness, His glory and His life.  Great deal!  We become less and He is placed as Lord of all.  See, He IS high and lifted up, weather or not you say so.  Why not join HIM in what He has already done for you and for me!  It will make you want to SHOUT!

The Good-O-Meter

For those who just don't get this salvation thing, this may give you some insight into the matter.  The Good-O-Meter is NOT how it will happen, of course, but it communicates the point.  See, it's about Jesus "taking our place".  We all have sinned and deserve death.  He was sinless and took our place.  He paid the random for us by paying a debt we could not  pay.

Have you been washed in the blood of Jesus?  Don't count on being "good" enough.
