In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Moving Forward - Free Chapel

From the first moment I heard this song by Ricardo Sanchez of Free Chapel called Moving Forward it grabbed my Spirit and ministered to my soul.

My son plays electric and at our church he was playing the lead intro for this song as we sang it.  I just LOVE the song and now it has a personal memory as I see my son playing this lead lick.

With the start of new year it is time to put these words into practice.  It is SO powerful and incredibly therapeutic.  We need to declare daily that we are choosing to move forward.  Sometimes we may even need to speak to our flesh hourly or minute by minute.  The anointing of the Lord is truly on this song. I love it.  Love it.  Love it.  Love it.  Time to move forward 'cause He makes ALL things new.

the Manhattan Declaration

The Manhattan Declaration is a a call of Christian Conscience.  Recently Chuck Colson*, Dr. Robert George (a professor of Jurisprudence at Princeton University) and Dr. Timothy George (a professor at Beeson Divinity School at Samford University) joined forces to create a declaration of their faith known as the Manhattan Declaration.

This document is signed by 150 leaders from the orthodox church, the Roman Catholic church (including many bishops, arch-bishops and a cardinal) and from leaders of the Evangelical world.  All of these signers are agreeing and saying they want to affirm 1) the sanctity of human life and 2) the sanctity of the family and 3) if the leaders of this nation continue to assault the family, life and our liberties we will render unto "Caesar what is Caesar's" but under NO circumstance will we render to "Caesar what is God's!" This is a time for true Christian's to stand up and defend what we believe.

For a great clip on the principals of this document you can hear Chuck Colson in his own words as he talks about it on the Mike Huckabee Show.  How prepared are you to pay the price for the cause of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?  Many are willing to give up their tax exempt status, some have put their careers in jeopardy and a pastor in Sweden gave up his freedom over these basic human principals.

*Who is Chuck Colson?
Founder of the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview, founder of Prison Fellowship and  former presidential aide to President Richard Nixon.  He was "incapable of humanitarian thought" according to the media in the 1970's until his conversion to Christianity in August of 1973 when the Boston Globe reported, "If Mr. Colson can repent of his sins, there just has to be hope for everybody."  In 1974 Colson entered a plea of guilty of obstruction of justice to Watergate-related charges.  Colson was not implicated in the Watergate burglary itself but he would do almost anything for the cause of his party and his president.

He served in Alabama's Maxwell Prison in 1974 and was the first member of the Nixon administration to go to prison for Watergate-related charges.  He served seven months of a one-to-three year sentence.

Colson is an author of over 20 books to date including: Born Again, Loving God, Being the Body and How Now Shall We Live?  Click on link for other articles on Chuck Colson

No Grave - News Boys

My son played this song and I just had to have it in a place where I could listen to it anytime I wanted.  This song just ministers to me.  When things are hard, or discouraging, get the right perspective.  See there is NO Grave that will hold us!

I just LOVE the lyrics to this song.  There is NOTHING that is going to hold our Spirits down if we are sealed in the blood of Jesus.  Great Song!  ENJOY!!!

Noah's Ark - Schagen, Netherlands

Here is a video clip of one man's endeavor to share his faith with those in his homeland, in Schagen, Netherlands.  Since May of 2005 he has been building his recreation. There are many links on-line that give you this story but these were some of the ones I liked.

Does God Exist?

This was a TV ad for the Government of the Republic of Macedonia to promote education. It is surprising that a government published this as you would think it was created by a church or religious organization.

It has been stated that the events depicted in the video actually did not happen yet many argue it did. Either way, the questions raised are valid no matter who quoted them but credit is given to Albert Einstein.  Either way, the concept and message in the video are too powerful not to consider!

You will need to read the captions as this is filmed with the actors speaking in German and is quite moving.  I love the line that darkness is in reality the absence of light.  Jesus likens himself unto the light, the light of the world.  We become dark with the absence of His presence.  Just love this whole clip!

The More I Seek You - CFNI

Kari Jobe leads the song The More I Seek You at Christ for the Nations in Dallas, Texas.  This is a powerful worship song where you will find yourself raptured into the presence of the Lord.  If you are in need of a touch from the Prince of Peace, this is the song to whisk you off your feet into the presence of the King.

I know we are to give out of the overflow of our heart. We need our cups filled in order to give out.  We are to share what have.  This song will not only fill your cup, but it will overflow into your saucer.  Then you will be fully saturated in His presence, refreshed and renewed and ready to be a blessing as He has called us to be.

FIREPROOF - Teaser

Earlier this year a GREAT movie came out called FIREPROOF starring Kirk Cameron.  This is one of those movies you need to have in your video collection!  I can't wait until it comes out to buy my copy and I will be the first in line.

If you want to be married, have plans to get married, are married, have been married or know someone who falls into ANY of these categories, this is a must see movie.  It will help build your ideas about marriage, strengthen you current marriage and possibly even save a failing marriage.  I pray ALL your marriages are fireproof.

Partial Birth Abortion

I am amazed at how many people, including Christians, who don't know or don't want to know the details that are involved in what doctor's are calling the partial birth abortion procedure. This is a very tasteful demonstration of a doctor showing the process of this procedure using a doll and a curtain set-up. It is very discrete and informative. I post this link because people need to understand how barbaric this procedure is in order to speak against this atrocity. There is NO reason we are conducting such an evil to a living child. We hear all about the rights of the mother, but I want to know why the innocent child in the procedure has no rights. Again, this procedure must be stopped and our current president was the only congressman to vote for the legislation to kill a child who was born alive after a botched abortion. This is just sickening in the least and tragic that we in this culture are allowing this to continue under the guise of a medical procedure.

I Am Happy - Nick Vujicic's

This is SO convicting.  I grew up hearing my mother repeating the old Jewish Proverb: "I felt sorry for myself because I had no shoes -- until I met a man who had no feet."  My sister-in-law used to say, "Lord, How Can We Be Sad."  These are the sayings that come into my head as I watch this clip.  The day I am writing this blog I was struggling with "life" and then I stumbled across this clip.

Nick Vujicic has an incredible outlook on life and this is admirable when you watch the video and see all the things that he has had to deal with in life.  He is so full of living even though to look at his situation you could easily think he would think he would have no purpose, but this is SO far from the truth.

After watching this video you may want to read more about Nick.  I found this link that also has many photographs of him playing sports, studying, writing and the answers to some questions you may have.

God has given us a choice.  May we all CHOOSE to be happy!

Amazing Grace - Wintley Phipps

Solo of Amazing Grace sung by Wintley Phipps at the Inaugural Prayer Service.  He started singing the song by humming the first verse because that is what the Negro Spiritualists would do.  They would begin a song by humming.  His voice is INCREDIBLE.  It billows.  So round.  So full.  Simple beautiful.  The only down-side of this performance was the occasion for which he was singing.  I just simply could listen to him all day.  Creamy voice in such low tones.  Love it.

Amazing Grace - the Black Keys

Wintley Phipps is an incredible singer and featured soloist who shares some really inspirational information during this clip while doing a concert. The pentatonic scale is made up of only the black keys. The African slaves were known for singin in this scale chord progression. All of the black spirituals had this same melodic tone. Try it, go play the black keys on a piano and you will hear many old spirituals sung in that key. He goes on to share the orientation of the song, Amazing Grace. See the writer of the lyrics to the song Amazing Grace was John Newton and he was a slave ship captain before he came to Christ. He heard the melody to this most famous spiritual while taking peole captive as they sang in captivity in the bowels of the ship. Later in life, John Newton, penned the words to Amazing Grace to this African song he had heard years before. If you haven't seen the movie, Amazing Grace...I highly recommend it!

Fence Riders - Jimmy Needham

This a good song and I totally agree.  Sometimes people just don't get it. They don't understand where I am at but Jimmy Needham got it right in Fence Riders.  Good stuff.

Busyness

This video is an interesting look at our life of busyness from the prospective of the demons of hell and their strategy to keep us off track.  After listening to this video and reading the plan, it should make you stop and think about keeping the main thing the main thing.

He Knows My Name - Yiruma

So I posted the other day this song, He Knows My Name but then I found this version by a the pianist, Yiruma.  FABULOUS song played by an incredible pianist.  Listen to the version I posted the other day so you get the words, then listen to this version and let the words in your mind minister to you.
See, HE knows your name.  He knows your every thought.  Simply powerful.  Think about it.  I just love this song and it is made all the more special in this instrumental version.

By the way, I did some checking and Yes, Yiruma is a Christian.  I think you can hear it in the way he plays.

He Knows My Name by Tommy Walker

Back in 2005, my brother was very sick for a very long time.  He was having kidney failure and was on a respirator and those were just a few of the medical issues he was facing.  The Lord laid this song on my heart to share with him along with a series of scriptures.  See, He Knows Your Name!

The song speaks to the needs we have to be remembered.  We are NOT alone.  He is just a call away!   It is a powerful song to remind you of how much the Lord loves you.  Think about it...He KNOWS your name.

This was another version of the same song that I liked as well and couldn't decide which I liked better so I posted them both!  The first song is more the way I hear it...mellow and soft.  This version is a bit more upbeat.  Of course you can find MANY other versions of the song but those artists change the chord progression in the melody and I liked they way these two versions by Tommy Walker kept the notes.  I pray you are ministered to by this song as well.

the Woodcutter's Wisdom

Many years ago, my husband shared this tale with me.  Since then, it has been added to my little "bag of treasures" and call it one of my "nuggets" in life.  A nugget, to me, are those things that you happen across in life that change you, or speak to you and they are special.  You KNOW you will have to save "it".  It is not only for now but you know you will use it again later.

I liken these "nuggets" unto doing a puzzle.  Have you ever done a really tough puzzle?  You are looking for that ONE piece.  You look and look and you KNOW you will recognize it when you see it.  Well, maybe you find it that day, and maybe you don't but either way, when the day comes and you do find it, you KNOW it and you know EXACTLY where to put it.
See, as I stumble across things in my life and I KNOW they are important and I KNOW I need to save them, I "pick them up" and place them in my imaginary bag that holds all my "nuggets" or "treasures".  Then, one day, I draw from that bag with just the RIGHT piece needed for that day or for that situation!  I save it.  I hold it.  I keep it.  Then when needed, I apply it!

God gives me "nuggets" or these "pieces" sometimes for me, sometimes for you, sometimes ... well, I don't know yet, but I do know to hold onto them and I am certain that one day, ALL these little pieces will be assembled and it will be a beautiful Mosaic of my life.  I pray that it resembles HIM!

So, here is one of my FAVORITE "nuggets"!  I pray you are as blessed by it as I was and am!

The Woodcutter's Wisdom
by Max Lucado

WOULD YOU buy a house if you were only allowed to see one of its rooms? Would you purchase a car if you were permitted to see only its tires and a taillight? Would you pass judgement on a book after reading only one paragraph?

Nor would I.

Good judgement requires a broad picture. Not only is that true in purchasing houses, cars, and books, it’s true in evaluating life. One failure doesn’t make a person a failure; one achievement doesn’t make a person a success.

"The end of the matter is better than its beginning," (1) penned the sage.

"Be…patient in affliction," (2) echoed the apostle Paul.

"Don’t judge a phrase by one word," stated the woodcutter.
The woodcutter? Oh, you may not know him. Let me present him to you.
I met him in Brazil. He was introduced to me by a friend who knew that I needed patience. Denalyn and I were six months into a five-year stint in Brazil, and I was frustrated. My fascination with Rio de Janeiro had turned into exasperation with words. I couldn’t speak and a culture I didn’t understand.

Laminin by Louie Giglio

This is probably the MOST incredible video you will see this year.  Everyone I have shared this video with has been blown away.  Take the time to WATCH it, you will NOT be disappointed.  It's called Laminin (La-min-in).

I have yet to see a video by Louie Giglio that doesn't deliver.  He is an anointed teacher and this will simply BLOW YOU AWAY when you see how GREAT our God is.  He thought of everything and put his fingerprints all around us.  ENJOY!

Thurman Scrivner - TLSM

A friend of mine has been to this ministry for small group teachings on several occasions.  Located in Denton, Texas, The Living Savior Ministries is led by Thurman Scrivner.  She has seen how to walk into her God given place of healing.  She has dealt with several on-going and life altering issues for most of her adult life and this ministry taught her things that she had never applied to her life and she has been walking with the Lord since childhood.

Thurman was raised as Baptist and his ministry started with his ministry to many Baptists.  Of course, anytime you are walking in the anointing of the Lord, you ministry grows and go where God takes it.

I have listened to a few of his teachings and my favorite was How to Be Healed.  They are downloadable and you can purchase them as well. Some of the teachings are quite long, but I loved it.  I have shared the link with a few friends and have heard a variety of responses but I felt it was a link worth sharing.  A tool I learned years ago may be of service to you as you listen to the links.  Remember to eat the fish and spit out the bones or eat the hay and spit out the sticks.  I am not posting this for a critique, I am posting it for people who are looking for answers from the Word on the topic of healing and health.

AGAPE love - the Challenge

the CHALLENGE: Greek word for sacrificial love, AGAPE: UNCONDITIONAL love that is ALWAYS giving & IMPOSSIBLE to take or be a taker. It devotes TOTAL commitment to seek highest best NO MATTER how anyone may respond. This form of love is totally SELFLESS, does NOT CHANGE whether the love given is returned or not.

I read this article linked to Focus on the Family and was quite challenged with my inability to love.
Matthew J. White in his article, Sacrificial Love is very much on my toes as I read through his article. Our culture is so FAR from this type of love. Just think of some of the commercials we hear over and over, "Have it Your Way", "Just Like You Like It", "You Deserve A Break Today", "Because You're Worth It"; all of these say the same thing, "Me First!". This is NOT agape love...in fact the extreme opposite.

I have heard some friends saying the following, "I did the dishes, so you should bathe the kids." Or "You got to go out with your friends last weekend, so tonight is my turn." Bad enough that we have this attitude in the culture, but in our marriages? Come Holy Spirit, we need thee!  AGAPE Love

By The People

"And that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." - Abraham Lincoln, the Gettysburg Address, Gettysburg Pennsylvania, November 19, 1863. Our government was set up to work FOR us. Unfortunately, too many of us are letting the few do the leading. It is time for YOU, the PEOPLE, to let your voice be heard. To help you in that endeavor, I have given you the direct link to our Texas Governor's office. Take the time to voice your opinion on issues that matter.

You can also call the office at: 1-800-252-9600

Worshiping You - Deluge

Incredible song of worship appropriately titled, Worshiping You by Deluge Band.

This song continually reminds me to keep the main thing the main thing.  It's all about Him. We have to tell our flesh that!

When life seems hard, confusing, full of pain, I HAVE to fix my eyes on Jesus and begin to Worship.  Worship transports me from the parched to Paradise.  I can leave mediocrity and enter into perfection.  As I find that secret place in Him, I am transformed, renewed, refreshed, revived.  Sometimes life is so full of issues and strife that we loose sight of our purpose...to worship Him!  We were created to bring Him Glory.  We do that in worship!  We go to Him to worship and while we are there He splashes His glory all about us and we walk away changed.

I pray you are refreshed as you listen to this inspirational song.  Take time to just worship Him...it's great practice for the days to come in eternity!  That is what we will be doing, forever and ever and ever!  Worshipping Him!

However you choose to worship, right now choose to quite yourself, fix your eyes on your savior, stare into the face of your maker and just worship.  Come Lord Jesus we need your touch and we are not ashamed to be in your presence.  We love you!

I would love to have your feedback on it. Let me know.

You can go to InfoWars and then scroll down on this page to view a preview.  Click on the video called: the Obama Deception.  You now have to order this on this site to view the whole DVD.  When I posted this it was available on YouTube but is now no longer free.*

Indescribable - Louis Giglio

One of the most incredible teachers is Louis Giglio.  He is so into science and he brings that knowledge and understanding back to the Word.  He takes his understanding of man's thinking's and points you right back to the creator.  Once you have heard him teach, you will never look at the stars in the sky the same.  He changes that.

This is a 5 part teaching and you will not want to miss ANY of it.  ENJOY!

When Did We Cease To Be?

This is an interesting link that was shared with me I and felt it necessary to share with others. Congressman J. Randy Forbes of the 4th District of Virginia addressed congress (Judeo-Christian Nation) and he raises questions to us regarding President Obama's comments in the nation of Turkey on April 06, 2009. (the Obama Bow) Comments that Obama has a right to but he stated that the United States was NOT a Judea-Christian nation. (Obama in Turkey) Congressman Forbes continues with two questions: 1. Whether we ever considered ourselves a Judea-Christian nation? 2. If we did, what was that moment in time that we ceased to do so?

By quoting the first act of the First Congress of the United States he reminds us that they had a minister present in Congress who led in prayer and afterwards read four chapters from the Bible. He goes on to say that a few years later, when we unanimously declared our independence, that the signers of the Declaration of Independence made certain that people were given the rights established by our creator. He notes the Treaty of Paris, signed in 1783 (ending the Revolutionary War and birthing this nation) that the signers made clear their beliefs by beginning with the phrase: "In the name of the most Holy and undivided Trinity."

Ten Shekles and a Shirt

This is the link for the teaching by Paris Reidhead called Ten Shekles and a Shirt taken from the book of Judges, chapter 17.  This series is on You Tube as a six part series.  See below for the links:

Paris was born in a Minnesota farming community in 1919 and in his late teens committed himself to a life of Christian service.

I have to say that there must have be something in that era that reminds me of my father.  In listening to this link and Paris's way of teaching, it brought back many memories of how my father would talk and teach.  His whole discussion on humanism seemed like it was something my father would say.  I could almost hear my father's voice as Paris was speaking.

You may ask why it matters about my father, but there is more to this that is fascinating to me.  You see, my father was also born in Minnesota and just a year before Paris in 1918.  It makes me wonder if there was some teaching that was in the school system or better yet, the family system, that planted these seeds in two totally different men but with similar geographical starts.

I am not at all saying that my father and Paris had the same life or callings as my father took most of his life to live by the principles that Paris is speaking about, but I find it interesting, as I reflect on my father's life in the late '70's, how his focus was similar to that of Paris in this teaching; that life is not all about fun and our pleasure and how humanism is invading Christianity.

Drawing Heaven

This is an incredible testimony of how God finds us.  Are Akiane is a 12-year-old who paints pictures of what she has seen of heaven.  She was 4 when she began this incredible journey and has made many beautiful paintings since then.

The most fascinating part of this story is that Are came from a family that were not Christians.  She told her mother of her visions of heaven and had to relate faith to her mother from her own personal experiences.  WOW - that could preach!  We ALL need to be sharing of OUR personal experience of how God intersects OUR lives and not just repeating some other person's revelation or experience!

Recently, Are has begun to play the piano and is now composing music and yes, you guessed it.  She have never had art or music lessons.

James 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Everything by Lighthouse

This was one of the MOST powerful videos that I have ever seen.  You will see the LOVE of GOD in the form of a mime to the song called, Everything by Lighthouse.

It is VERY moving and so POWERFUL of how MUCH the LORD loves us.  If this is not your life, than I am sure it is someone you know.  Oh our God is SO good!

Revival Hymn Video

It was a link such as this that caused me to start this blog.  I have been receiving so many emails with GREAT stuff contained in them and I wanted to share it with the WORLD!  Sure, I would forward it to my "friend group" but somehow I felt there were more people that I needed to share it with. I wanted a bigger audience to hear these treasures from days-gone-by.

I pray you enjoy the Revival Hymn (as much as I have!  In this video you will hear Leonard Ravenhill recounting a great work of God along with many other great ministers of the Gospel.  (also try the Google video link: the Revival Hymn.)  You will hear Ian Praisley, Paris Reidhead, Duncan Campbell, A.W. Tozer and T. Austin Sparks as they are set to video as shown on You-Tube.  This is probably the most remarkable recording I have ever heard on the testimony of our Great God.  I pray you are moved, changed and transformed as you listen.

Don Dickerman

A friend told me about Don Dickerman Minstries located in Colleyville, Texas.  I have participated in the ministries here as a participant and a student.  Many people believe that Christians are never in need of deliverance because they say that if the Holy Spirit is in you, devils can't be.  This simply doesn't line up with scripture.

Just because a person is born again and saved does not cause demons to leave.  Read in the scripture every time Jesus dealt with demons he commanded them to leave.  Until they are told to leave they are just laying low.  As a person walks with the Lord, they can, through their own personal walk, command demons to leave but either way, demons don't leave until they are told to go.

Don has written a book on the subject and recently re-titled the book.  You can listen to a link about When Pigs Move In and find out for yourself about the topic.

The COLD Within - Poem

Years ago my mother came across this poem The Cold Within and she shared a copy with me.  Immediately it was a piece of information that gripped my heart.  It was one of those moments that spoke into my soul.  I was about 10 or so, old enough to capture the meaning of the writing yet still young enough to desire to decorate my bedroom door with all the things I loved.  I taped the copy up for "all the world" to see!  Ha - the only world that was viewing it was my parents and family members as they hurried past my door on the way to their lives.  Oh, the innocence of youth.

Well, now I post here...like my bedroom door, I have no idea if anyone is stopping from their hurried life to read what is here, but yet I still post.  So, some things in life never change.

The Cold Within
Six humans trapped by happenstance
In dark and bitter cold
Each possessed a stick of wood--
Or so the story's told.

Their dying fire in need of logs,
But the first one held hers back,
For, of the faces around the fire,
She noticed one was black.
The next one looked cross the way
Saw one not of his church,
And could not bring himself to give
The fire his stick of birch.

The third one sat in tattered clothes
He gave his coat a hitch,
Why should his log be put to use
To warm the idle rich?

The rich man just sat back and thought
Of wealth he had in store,
And keeping all that he had earned
From the lazy, shiftless poor.

The black man's face bespoke revenge
As the fire passed from his sight,
For he saw in his stick of wood
A chance to spite the white.

And the last man of this forlorn group
Did nought except for gain,
Giving just to those who gave
Was how he played the game,

Their sticks held tight in death's stilled hands
Was proof enough of sin;
They did not die from cold without--
They died from cold within.

the Stimulus Package

Bob Basso (the author of "Common Sense") plays the role of Thomas Paine and has it SO right. We don't need more government interfering with our banks, our investments, our companies, we need LESS government. A good reminder of the truth and I for one am glad he said it.  Stimulus Package
